The Jennings have been walking in other regions such as the Black Mountains while the Flemings (disinclined to take out the car) have walked to Garson's Farm in Esher and back, 3 times in the last 10 days - all the way through woods crossing only 3 roads en route. However, on Saturday the
intrepid? four joined forces for an official practice walk of 15 miles from Guildford to Dorking. The North Downs Way and the wet weather was good practice for the BIG one. We catch the train up to St Bees on Saturday next and will meet at Waterloo at 10.10am to travel to Euston and northwards. Thank you to Andrew whose impeccable timing got us bargain price rail tickets. That 3 of us are senior citizens knocked down the price too. No prizes for spotting the young one among us! This week is the time to buy the blister plasters, do the packing and eat and sleep well, interspersed with work and shorter walks.
