Day 2: Ennerdale Bridge to Borrowdale

This was a long day as we spent more than 8 hours getting here. It was one we endured rather than enjoyed - thick mud, thick bog and thick mist. But the weather had cleared by the evening when we reached Yew Tree farm BandB. Great shower and a hot bath and fish and chips in a warm local pub did much to revive our spirits. I had some moments of pure panic slipping and sliding upwards in rain and mist. We did get disorientated trying to get to the top but met other lost souls in the mist and after conferring and using GPSs we found the way down to Hollister. We all have tired legs tonight but have cheered up given the good hospitality we have experienced.
